I attended the Dallas Society of Visual Communications National Student Show on April 2-4 with other students from LSU and Lynne Baggett. It was worth it and everyone should have gone. There were studio tours, plenty of networking opportunities as well as portfolio reviews with Fossil, Hallmark and more. Make plans to go next year!

NOLA AIGA Student Portfolio Review
The 2009 AIGA Student Portfolio Review is a chance for you to practice your interview skills and get valuable feedback from professionals about your portfolio and resume in a no-risk, non-competitive environment. Get the inside scoop from the industry’s finest and find out what it takes to land the perfect job! While this event is not a job fair, some reviewers may be looking for potential employees or interns. This is a great opportunity to learn who’s who in South Louisiana’s design community and start making connections while getting critical feedback on your portfolio.
This year’s event will be held at University of Louisiana, Lafayette on Saturday, March 28 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and features guest reviewer and keynote speaker Joshua Davis (http://www.joshuadavis.com/).

Dallas Society of Visual Communications Student Conference: April 2-4, 2009
I am looking to get together a group of students to attend the DSCV Student Show and Conference in Dallas, TX on April 2-4. The cost of attending is a 150 dollar entry fee for the conference and unlimited entries into the show as well. The Conference also has spots open for studio tours, if you are interested, for 25 dollars.

The deadline for show entries is February 25th so we have a week to get our entries together and send them in. Let me know who is willing/wanting to go. I think this is a great chance for us to have some exposure to the professional design world and get a chance to win some awards!
